World War II Reenactment Weekend

What an awesome weekend! The Operation Market-Garden weekend was a huge success for West Overton. All the reenactors had a great time and are looking forward to next year.

The weekend started with a Memorial Dinner featuring Lt. Col. William Russell (Retired - USAR) as our guest speaker. Lt. Col Russell was stationed in the Pentagon during the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001. Lt. Col. Russell spoke about the importance of understanding our history as a nation and the importance of keeping history in mind when decisions are made about our nation.
It was a great weekend and the staff did a great job planning and coordinating the event. This weekend is just another example of the many great things to come at West Overton.

Below are two pictures from the weekend. The first is Lt. Col. Russell speaking and the second is one from the reenactment event.

Have a great evening!

Book Signing Well Attended

We would like to thank all the guests who came out to greet author Paul Estronza LaViolette this afternoon at Uncle Martins Company Store. It was a privilege to hear such a fine author talk about what inspires him to write about the things he does.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Paul for taking time out of his busy schedule to spend an afternoon with us at West Overton; we are most appreciative.

Please continue to check the website for upcoming events including additional book signings as more are being planned.

Have a great day!
